JKK Kayak Coaching
JKK Kayak Coaching Limited offers a number of flexible training options. Our focus is on providing a full and safe learning program which equips competitors with the skills they need to be successful in the sport of kayaking. Our accredited trainers receive most of your course fees directly, all we do is provide the framework and final assessment - just like getting a drivers license. Some people appreciate a little more assistance and encouragement. Outside the course framework, extra assistance can be purchased just like engaging a personal trainer at the gym.
Grade 2 Certificate Course: Our grade 2 kayak courses are designed to build competence for the requirements of the Coast to Coast event. We provide two learning options. Facilitated courses are run in classes of four by our coaches. Self Directed Learning option suits competitors who have developed kayaking skills in another discipline and are "crossing over" to multi-sport and those with a competent friend who can provide coaching and support. We provide the learning modules and final assessment. .
Performance Coaching & Race Technique: Learn from the master. Jan Kees shares his secrets on kayak setup, preparation, river reading and all things sneaky that will help you to achieve the sparkling race performance you aspire to. Grade 2 certificate and confidence in your kayak are a prerequisite to this course. Subject to availability, fleet kayaks and transport can be hired for out-of-towners. .
Group River Trips: We coordinate group river trips led by an accredited coach. Every paddler is expected to be competent and self sufficient. Grade 2 certificates are mandatory. Our experienced coaches will show you the hot lines and the safe lines. Subject to availability, fleet kayaks and transport can be hired for out-of-towner's. .
Flat Water Technique Coaching: Correct use of a wing paddle is counter intuitive and even the experts need regular coaching. Learning correct technique dramatically improves stability and confidence in turbulent water and endurance through use of correct muscle groups and efficiency. Not just for beginners, improving technique is an essential part of stepping up from intermediate to performance kayaks. It is easier to learn correct technique from the start, but its never too late to go fast.
